In addition to writing novels, Michael Laser freelances as an editor and ghostwriter.
I help clients write or revise their novels, memoirs, children’s books, and various non-fiction projects. In some cases, all that’s required is polishing a finished manuscript. With other clients, I write entire books based on notes, emails and telephone interviews.
I am also willing to take on smaller projects: articles, memos, annual reports, etc.
Client Testimonials
Writing your first novel is hard enough, but finding an editor that you trust with your work is much harder. Michael has made this step a pleasure. From our first conversation throughout the entire process, Michael has listened, supported and made a piece of work that I thought was pretty good into a magnificent piece of work. My novel would simply not be the same without his assistance.

It was more than a pleasure working with Mike Laser in the remolding and editing of my book. His ‘spot on’ recognition of changes that would better serve the work helped me tremendously. Many thanks to you, Michael.

How it works
I charge $70/hour for my ghostwriting services. With each new client, I try to offer a ballpark estimate for the cost of the entire project, and then refine this based on the progress made in the first weeks.
I can work as many or as few hours per week as the client’s finances permit. Generally I work between two and five hours per week for each client.
Because the last thing I want is an unhappy client, I usually offer to begin each project with a paid sample. Once the author approves the sample, I send the remaining work in stages, usually a chapter at a time, so there will be no surprises at the end.
If you have questions, or if you would like to discuss working together, please email me: mikelaser@comcast.net
I look forward to hearing about your project.
